Agape Camp
On July 24-27, Mission 2540 was able to send 11 of our youth to camp with the youth of my church to Extreme Camp near Tyler. I wasn’t able to go, unfortunately, since the timing of the camp coincided with my brother-in-law’s wedding in Tennessee. As a result, I don’t have pictures, but you can […]
Camp Hope
I spent a draining, fun, crazy 4 days at Camp Hope at Hidden Falls Ranch last weekend. Camp Hope is a camp that evolved from the Angel Tree Camps I’ve had the chance to help with over the past several years. It’s a camp put on primarily by CityChurch for kids with parents in prison and other […]
Agape Camp
I usually have the chance to take a group of kids every Spring Break to a camp for needy kids called Agape Camp at Hidden Falls Ranch. I was at Sky Ranch when the camp started, but I still sent a group of about 10 of our kids that way. I was able to stop […]
Spring Break Camp
Mission 2540 was able to send 8 kids to camp last week with Messiah’s House. We went to Sky Ranch in Van, TX and had a great time! Thanks to those of you who gave so the kids could go. I wish we could have sent more, but due to track practices, work, and family […]
Sports and Art Camp
Paramount EXP put on an awesome sports and art camp for the Mission 2540 kids each evening Monday through Wednesday. They rented out the Travis Middle School gym, and we brought out around 35-40 kids each night for fun, games, crafts, food and devotionals. It was an awesome time. The kids really enjoyed it. Special […]
Agape Camp at Hidden Falls Ranch
Thursday through Friday night of Spring Break (it was supposed to go through Saturday, but we ended early due to the incoming thundersnow), I, along with the incredible assistance of Claudie Mezel, Suzanne Schroder, and Josh Heavin) took 17 of our kids and joined up with another 20 or so and headed to Hidden Falls […]
Camp fun
Well I’m in the middle of a crazy week. On Monday I took several of my teenagers to our church’s Spring Break camp at Camp Chapparal in Iowa Park. Sadly, I had several of my girls cancel at the last minute. It was crazy – sickness, emergency trips, track coaches not letting one go, etc. […]
Some more pictures of Angel Tree Camp
I said I’d post some more pictures from camp last week, so I guess I better do what I said I’d do. I arrived at Angel Tree Camp armed with my camera to document the weekend, but quickly realized I hadn’t charged the batteries. So I’ve got nothing for the first day and a half […]
Wow.
That’s about the only way to sum up Angel Tree Camp – the camp I attended last Friday-Monday for kids who have family members in prison. The Lord showed up in a way I really don’t think I’ve ever seen before. Kids – and counselors – were forever changed. I truly believe that. I’m really […]
We’re back from Awaken Youth Camp!
We had an incredible (and exhausting) time last week at camp. We returned Friday evening, and I think I’m recovered enough to post a few pictures and tell a few stories. First off, thanks to all of you who prayed for us last week and those of you who gave so that we could bring 13 […]
