What do you want to be when you grow up?

Yesterday at Rose Plaza, we talked about working for the Lord in all that we do.  As part of the lesson, I had all the kids draw pictures of what they wanted to be when they grow up.  I love encouraging them to have goals and dreams for their futures.    Below is what each kid said they want to be:

Shantel – Doctor

Clynnyja – Nurse

Tabitha – Teacher

Kalie – Teacher

Taekwon – Batman and Superman (he’s 5)

Tamera – Doctor

Xylin – Lawyer

Brianna – Lawyer

Tanaysia – TV Judge (like Judge Judy)

Adal – Police Officer

Lydia – Dentist

Chris – Police Officer

Maritza – Singer

Passion – Singer

Ty – Basketball Player

Alante – Singer

Emely – Supreme Court Justice (says she’ll be a cop and then go to law school to prepare)

Kayla – Lawyer

I’m praying that teachers and police officers and doctors and maybe even a Supreme Court justice will come out of that group of kids.  These kids, regardless of their current circumstances, have hope for an incredible future.  I can’t wait to see their dreams become realities.

With God, all things are possible – even Emely becoming a Supreme Court justice.  But maybe not Taekwon becoming both Batman and Superman.   That might be tough.
