If you’re interested, I’m one of the speakers at a seminar for churches on “Ministering to The Culture of Poverty.” It takes place Saturday, April 26 from 10am-2pm at the Amarillo Area Baptist Association. Lunch will be provided.
It’s a chance to learn about, well, as you can probably tell from the title, the culture of poverty. We’ll be talking about working with those in poverty, their lifestyles, attitudes, learned behaviors, etc. It’s really going to be eye-opening if you haven’t spent much time with folks who live poverty. We’ll discuss ways to build relationships with them and introduce them to the love of Christ. We’ll also discuss some biblical perspectives on the Christian’s role in the lives of those who are poor. There will be many opportunities for discusssion and questions as well.
So if you’d like to be there, comment here or email me at email@example.com and I’ll give you some more details.
