Today was the first Good News Bible Club at Eastridge Elementary for this school year. I’ve been helping a great woman from CEF named Zoleta (along with the folks at CityChurch) do her Bible Clubs at Eastridge for the past few years. My job is basically to round kids up and do 2 or 3 magic tricks every week.
I love going out to the Eastridge area because there is just an incredible mid of cultures – Somali, Bhurmese, Vietnamese, Hispanic, White, African American, Laotian – you name, they’ve got it. With such a mix of students and languages, it makes for wild times – but magic tricks kind of reach across all cultures, so I can play a good role in getting everybody calmed down.
We probably had 30-40 kids out there today, which was pretty typical for much of last year. Pray that we’ll be able to share the love of Christ this year (and that we won’t go crazy in all the chaos!)
