Summer Fun

It’s been a while since I last posted, because we have been super busy!  We’ve had a blast this summer already.  A few highlights:

There’s no better way to cool off than by throwing water balloons at each other.  That’s what we’ve done on afternoons at both properties.  The brave kids like to get the cooler that once held water balloons but now holds excess water dumped all over them.  I’m always happy to oblige.

The interns with Jeff Parson’s Multi-housing Outreach ministry are coming out to Cypress Creek every Tuesday to play water games and study the Bible.  Here are a few of the kids cooling off and waiting for a Bible story last week.

The youth group at my church came out to NGV every day last week for a fun Summer club.  We were able to minister to over 50 kids during the week.  It was an absolute blast.  Kids from countries all over the world live at NGV now, and it was so fun to have all those cultures collide for several days.

One of the highlights for me last week is that one of our NGV kids – Quinn, who just finished 6th grade – got to participate and help the youth group last week.  Here she is telling the Bible story.  She was nervous but did great.

On Thursday we made a giant 40 foot slip ‘n slide and it was awesome.

On Friday the 11th, some friends of mine put on a benefit concert for Mission 2540 at the North Ministry Center at Trinity Fellowship.  It was awesome – we raised lots of money and had a terrific time.  Huge thanks to all the bands who donated their time to us – Garrett Wooten band (that’s G-woo and his pals in the picture above), Patrick Schlabs and friends, Kacie Williams, and Ryan Culwell.  I can’t wait to do it again.

Summer is going by in a hurry, and I forget every year how tiring it is.  But I’m loving every minute of it.  So are the kids!
