Paramount EXP put on an awesome sports and art camp for the Mission 2540 kids each evening Monday through Wednesday. They rented out the Travis Middle School gym, and we brought out around 35-40 kids each night for fun, games, crafts, food and devotionals. It was an awesome time. The kids really enjoyed it. Special thanks to Julie and Trey Burleson for organizing everything and to the entire EXP Community who helped out with the games and foods and crafts and transportation. We can’t wait to do it again next year. Here are some pictures of the fun:
Getting some basketball instruction from Mission 2540 board member and former WT basketball bench warmer Brad Borden.
Monday night we played a fun game of Capture the Flag. Logan (on the right) is taunting his buddy Juan who has just been captured and sent to jail (in this case, a red hula hoop).
There wasn’t just sporting activities. Each evening, the kids who weren’t so sports inclined got to do some cool art projects. Sorry this picture is blurry. I guess the girls were moving super fast while making mod podge crosses.
Soon-To-Be Senior Dalvin led the devotional for the camp on Monday evening. He did a great job. I’m very proud of him. This was great practice for him, as he’s considering a career in education and/or youth ministry at this point.
Kickball on the Travis softball field was a great way to wrap things up. Everybody can play kickball, and just about everyone did, I think.
Thanks again to everyone at Paramount EXP for all your hard work. The kids had a blast, and they told me yesterday they wish it lasted for more than a week!
