We had a bunch of fun over Spring Break. The youth group from Rush Creek Church in Arlington came up to do mission work for my friend Jeff Parsons at Mission Amarillo. He loaned them to Mission 2540 every afternoon to spend couple of hours at Cathy’s Pointe. The North Grand Villas kids came over as well, and they had a blast playing games, doing crafts, hearing Bible stories, and doing their best to avoid the crazy wind. Here are a few pictures of the fun.
Friday afternoon, my friend Michael Wilson took a few of the boys to Medipark to do a little fishing. None of the boys had ever fished before, so it was a huge adventure for them and something they’d been looking forward to for several weeks. No one caught anything, but Michael said they found a dead fish on the shoreline and that added enough excitement for the boys to leave happy.
These kids don’t get to go on vacations and really don’t have a whole lot to do over Spring Break. I’m so thankful that we have groups and volunteers willing to come spend some time with the kids and show them the love of Jesus. It was a great week!
