Summer’s been wild and crazy and I’ve been too busy to blog. Figure I better update you with some pictures of the summer. Before I get to those, our annual mini-camp at Hidden Falls Ranch is next Monday-Wednesday. Please be praying for us. We’ve got 5 adults and several teenagers taking around 30 (kids are still signing up at the last minute) for a few days of outdoor fun. Pray for a safe week, no fights, and for the kids to be able to get away from the chaos of their homes and hear God’s voice. The kids can’t wait until Monday – and neither can I!
In the meantime, we’ve definitely enjoyed the summer, mainly because summer means water balloons.
We’ve had a few rainy days, which means we have to pass our time indoors. But’s that’s nothing a big stack of fuzzy sticks can’t solve. (or, if you grew up in the 80s or before, pipe cleaners)
We had another “Week of Fun” the second week of July put on by the youth of Messiah’s House, which they have done every summer for the past 4 years. It’s always a blast, highlighted by the giant slip-n-slide on the final day. They topped the week off with an evening hotdog cookout. I’m so thankful for youth minister Tommy Spencer and all he means to the kids of Mission 2540.
We’ve got 4 plus weeks of summer left, which means a lot more water balloons to through and more fun to be had. Keep us in your prayers, and I’ll do my best to keep posting pictures!
