July started off with Camp Awesome and it zoomed by after that. It was a HOT month, but that didn’t stop us from having some fun- check out the photos below. We only have a few more weeks of summer left, and we’re going to make the most of them!
The kids love doing crafts at Cathy’s Pointe – which make us happy since it’s air conditioned inside! Here they’re working on a cool little reminder about Jonah and the Big Fish.
The kids got creative and made some paper plate boats at Cypress Creek. Hopefully it helps them remember about how Jesus calms our storms.
The week of July 18th, we had a youth group come in from Calvary Baptist in Huntsville. During the mornings, they helped out with the great stuff going on at ACTS Community in San Jacinto. In the afternoon, the came out for a “Week of Fun” every day at Spring Terrace. Basketball, soccer, swinging, hot potato, water wars – you name it, they played it. The kids had a blast and are already asking if the group can come back next year.
We’ve had a lot of new kids come to Glenwood (including our new volunteer, Hal). They’ve all discovered the joy of getting a cooler full of water on your head.
The youth group at my home church Messiah’s House put on their annual “Week of Fun” at the North Grand Villas the week of July 11th. The kids love it, especially because each year we bring out the big tarps and create a downhill super Slip ‘n Slide. No better way to cool off on a 108 degree day than that!
Who doesn’t love water balloons? These two kiddos at Plum Creek certainly do.
